Review : Spray Tan

I absolutely love having a tan. Who doesn't? However, it's a little problematic when you live in rainy Leeds and it's the middle of winter. So I decided to treat myself this New Years Eve to a spray tan at Bliss. 

On my arrival at the salon the staff were friendly as always. I was taken to the spray tanning room where the beauty therapist discussed the process with me. I was then left to undress - you can choose how much or little you want to wear. I was also offered paper underwear, and a hair net, and instructed to put moisturiser on my elbows, knees, hands and feet. The therapist returned and started my spray tan. She asked me how dark I wanted to go, and I opted for a medium glow - not too natural but not too much. I was sprayed all over twice. Having your face sprayed is also optional. I was then left for ten minutes to dry off, with a stack of magazines at my side to keep me occupied. The therapist returned 10 minutes later and told me it would be fine for me to get dressed now. 

I was instructed to leave the tan to develop for 8 hours before showering, ideally. A guide colour comes out first, which may look darker than your actual tan. But don't panic - when you wash the guide colour comes off and you're actual tan is left. I couldn't leave mine for quite 8 hours but I left it nearly as long, and I was really pleased with the result. It looked really natural and even, and was exactly the shade i'd wanted. I got a lot of compliments on my tan over the next few days too. This is a great treat to get before a big night out or special occasion, and Bliss did a great job.
