Bliss Salon Review by GLAMOUR Magazine
Britain's Number One Women's Monthly Magazine visited the newly-launched Bliss Salon in Horsforth to review a host of gorgeous treatments. GLAMOUR is not alone, we made Harpers Bazaar's Six of the Best: Spray Tan Salons list back in 2008. The top glossy mag team were so taken with our treatment menu, Elemis massages and Dermalogica facials by Bliss, that they've written us a rave review. Read on:

The Salon: Nestled into the charming high street of Horsforth, Leeds - think cobbles, Yorkshire stone, unique shops and leafy terraces - this salon has an ultra-modern cottage feel to it. With state-of-the-art facilities, offering premium professional brands like Dermalogica, Elemis and Entity; the easy-going atmosphere and elegant décor immediately switched my mind-set into a laid-back gear. With rose wine served ice cold on tap (literally), private treatment rooms upstairs, nail bar area and discreet zones for pedicures, this is the ultimate salon for those wanting a dose of spa atmosphere, without feeling 'on show' while your treatment unravels.
The Treatments: For a mother-to-be,a soothing pregnancy massage performed by expert hands has to be one of the most sensational ways to spend an hour. Gentle massage techniques targeted my lower back pain, soothed tired muscles down my legs and lifted water retention from my feet. Utter relaxation would be an understatement. Using Elemis oils suitable for pregnancy and with a candle-lit room glowing in the background, this is a treatment that delivers harmony long after the session is complete. Aching feet are a typical pregnancy complaint, so a spa pedicure with almond scrub, an intense oil massage, followed by a natural nail care treatment and gel paint to finish, is a sure-fire way to rocket the wellbeing factor to 110%. It was official I was in blissful heaven but not content at euphoria, the spa topped my pregnancy package off with a 30-minute Dermalogica facial. This service is tailored purely to the needs and concerns of skin type and indulges one's visage with numerous lavishes of the range's cleansers, exfoliators, masques and deep moisturisers that focus intensely on drenching the skin in what it needs most - be it hydration, purification or soothing.
The Verdict: London spas may have the monopoly on geography but this Leeds-based beauty destination boasts space and that truly tranquil ambience that Yorkshire does best. The cheery staff are highly trained and have a long-standing commitment to the company - Bliss Salons have five salon destinations in Leeds - which really comes across the moment you open the stable doors. I arrived with tension oozing from several parts of my back, my DIY pedicure had suffered signs of briskness and my skincare regime needed input after undergoing so many changes through pregnancy. After indulging in three treatments - all suitable for the first/second/third trimesters of pregnancy - I was transformed with a genuinely renewed sense of wellbeing and I couldn't wait to slip into summer sandals. For a blissful beauty treat in the north, Bliss Horsforth is inked into my little black book.
Specialist pregnancy massage costs £55, the Dermalogica 30-minute professional facial costs £25 and a luxury spa pedicure costs £40 with a gel paint.
